The Melbourne Rovers are excited to announce Melbourne City coach and ex-Matildas player Louisa Bisby will lead a social soccer session at this year’s Midsumma Sports Festival day.

Bisby has represented Australia in soccer and has played all over the world.

“We are delighted to have Louisa with us on the day,” Meaghan Briggs, Rovers women’s convenor, said.

“I think this is an amazing opportunity for young people to learn from someone who has reached the peak of her sport.”

The day is the largest LGBTI sports event of year, with every community sports team taking part, from swimming (Glamourhead Sharks), rugby union (Melbourne Chargers) to badminton (Melbourne Smashers) and dancing (Dance Cats).

All sports are free and the community is encouraged to drop by and take part, even if they’ve never participated before.

“The 2015 Team Melbourne Sports Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever,” said Sebastian Delfino, vice president of Team Melbourne.

Melbourne Rovers soccer session commences at 2pm, and participants are asked to register during morning sports sessions (from 9.30am).
