Drinks, BBQs, social games: There’s plenty to see and do in Sydney during Bingham Cup Week.


G’day Welcome Drinks
Beresford Hotel, 3pm
Join us at the Beresford as we kick off the Bingham Cup in style in the heart of gay Sydney. Meet the early arrivals from interstate and overseas; plus enjoy tunes from the Beresford Sunday resident DJs.


Sydney Harbour Drinks
Opera Bar, 3pm
Opera Bar is a truly unforgettable experience. Enjoy a drink at the water’s edge, dine on great food and take in spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

The Rugby Player presented by Queer Screen
Event Cinemas George St, 7pm
An uplifting doco on Mark Bingham and his unique relationship with his mother. This is the story behind the man after whom the Bingham Cup is named. Special Q&A with Alice Hoagland, Mark Bingham’s mother.



Bondi Touch Footy, presented by aussieBum
Bondi Beach, 1.30pm
Enjoy some Australian touch footy on Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach.

Sunset Social at Bondi Beach, presented by aussieBum
Bondi Pavillion, 3pm
After touch footy the balcony at the historic Bondi Pavilion will come alive. Grab yourself a beer, enjoy the beach views and great tunes from djhamo. Plus a fundraising BBQ run by the Lifesavers with Pride.

Rugby Classics
Kinselas Hotel, 8pm
Relive some classic international Rugby games on the big screen with rugby guys from around the world.



Wallaby / Waratah Rugby Clinic
Moore Park, 9.30am
Just two days out from the start of the tournament join the rugby clinic run by Wallabies and NSW Waratahs players.

Rugby Club Bar Tour
Meet at Green Park Hotel, 5.30pm
Hosted by the fabulous Maxi Shield our tour takes in the best bars in inner Sydney, with special fun & games at each of our official Bingham Bars.


Smart Rugby Clinic
Moore Park, 9.30am
NSW Rugby will run a Smart Rugby clinic.

Rugby Club Photo Shoot
Sydney Opera House, various times
Come get your photo taken at our photo shoot like no other – on the steps of Australia’s most famous building. Sydney Opera House, Bennelong Point, Sydney.

Bingham Cup Opening Ceremony
Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 6pm
This Australian extravaganza is the official opening to the Bingham Cup. We journey through the Dreamtime, welcoming the Bingham Cup and 30 gay rugby teams to Sydney. Hosted by Vanessa Wagner with lots of surprises and great entertainment.

Opening Ceremony After Party
Stonewall Hotel, 9pm
Party on at the official opening ceremony after party at Bingham Bar, Stonewall Hotel. All three levels will be open with plenty of entertainment.



Tournament Day 1 - Pool Games
Woollahra 1, 2  & 3 Rose Bay, 9.30am
Rugby teams take to the field for pool games.

Aussie Pool Party & BBQ Hosted by Harbour City Bears
Cook and Phillip Aquatic Centre, 6.30pm
The Bears love a pool party, so squeeze into your togs and join hundreds of other guys at this fun splash around. With giant inflatables, a hydro pool and lots of wandering hands under the water. DJ Bolt will spinning the tunes and the soccer guys from Sydney Rangers Football Club will fire up your sausage on the BBQ.

Arrivals Party
Midnight Shift, 9pm
Long-running Oxford Street venue Midnight Shift rolls out the welcome mat for all visitors with a special party celebrating Bingham Cup.



Tournament Day 2 - Quarter Finals
Woollahra 1, 2 & 3 Rose Bay, 8.30am
Rugby teams take to the field for pool games and quarter finals.

Super Saturday
Bingham Bars: Kinselas, Stonewall, Beresford, 8pm
All three Bingham Bars take centre stage tonight for a special charity fundraiser with great entertainment at each venue. Entry by $5 charity wristband allows access to barhop between all 3 bars, with proceeds going to nominated Bingham Charities: The Cauliflower Club, The Pinnacle Foundation and The Lloyd McDermott Trust.


Tournament Day 3 – Finals
Woollahra 1, 2 & 3 Rose Bay, 8am
Rugby teams take to the field for the semi finals and finals.

Bingham Cup Awards
Ivy Sydney, 6pm
The tournament has come to an end and its time to present the awards for all five competitions. Set in the elegant surrounds of Ivy, this is our formal wrap up.

Bingham Closing Party
Ivy Sydney, 8.30pm
It’s time to play hard at our Bingham Cup Closing Party; a massive celebration spread over two party spaces at Ivy. This will be a fun and unforgettable end to a week of rugby.
