Naked rowers get their gear off for a good cause
Like many English universities, Warwick University has a first class rowing team - but the difference between Warwick’s team and those of its competitor is the Warwick Rowers don't mind getting their kit off for a good cause.
In 2014 the Warwick Rowers calendar earned the mantle of Charity Calendar of the Year. It was featured on Good Morning, America and E! Entertainment, and has raised nearly £100,000 for their sport and for charity, and won two awards at the UK’s National Calendar Awards.
This year the boys will be stripping down to combat homophobia and their latest campaign sees them crowdsourcing for a number of events in 2015 to fight homophobia in sports.
Donation drivers include a digital calendar and the opportunity to meet the boys in the flesh on their next calendar shoot.

"We’re not sitting on some vast pile of cash, so crowdfunding is an essential part of how we pay for production of the next year’s calendars, films and everything else. Every summer we come up with great deals and unique offers that make it possible for us to cover our costs and get the best value from our suppliers, so that as much of our revenue as possible can go where it’s needed. It also means our supporters get a great deal!” said Laurie, one of the rowers and team spokesperson in statement.
If you would like to assist the rowers in getting together the cash for their next calendar – the proceeds of which go to combating homophobia click here.
Anyone lucky enough to be in the UK can see the Warwick Rowers in the flesh next month when they take part in Manchester Pride on August . 23.
In the meantime here’s a few photos to whet your appetite. Now go buy the calendar!
