Gay people got married and the sky didn’t fall in says US judge
A Cincinnati Circuit Court of Appeals judge hearing arguments on gay marriage bans in four US states commented: “it doesn’t look like the sky has fallen in” regarding the decision by other US states to legalise same-sex weddings.
The federal appeals judge Martha Craig Daughtry made the comment on Wednesday while hearing from lawyers on both sides of the case on the battle for gay marriage rights in four US states, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Another judge questioned whether it was better to wait for popular change rather than seek change through the court.
both sides are still presenting arguments and the Circuit Court of Appeal is yet to provide a ruling.
