California: Transgender woman’s body found dumped
A transgender woman’s death is being treated as suspicious after investigators revealed her body, which was found dumped behind an Anaheim Dairy Queen outlet was most likely moved there after her death.
While there were no immediate signs of foul play, Ornage County Sherrif’s Department is treating the death of activist Zoraida Ale Reyes as suspicious. An autopsy has been conducted, but cause of death is yet to be determined. A toxicology report is pending.
Lieutenant Bob Dunn, spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department said it was unlikely the deceased passed away where she was discovered.
“Until we find out what the cause of death was we won’t know for certain what it means.”
The 28-year-old’s body was discovered by a customer of the fast food outlet.
Reyes is described as very active n the transgender and immigrant rights communities.
Advocates are concerned Reyes may have been a victim of transphobia.
