American Mixed Martial Arts fighter Fallon Fox has come out as transgender detailing her experience in a new documentary.

Fallon Fox is a professional American Mixed Martial Arts Fighter who was born male however underwent gender reassignment surgery six years ago to become female.

After a journalist found out about Fallon’s past she was forced out of the closet and is now concerned about the way in which she may be judged.

“These past six years, people have seen me as a woman, not a transsexual," Fallon told Outsports.

"People in the gym, people I train with, it's been great, it's been awesome. I'm just a woman to them. I don't want that to go away. It's unfortunate that it has to.”

Some of Fallon’s concerns are legitimate, with her fighting license now under investigation with Florida’s Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation now that she has come out as transgender.

The fighter has attempted to allay concerns she has an advantage over other women explaining the physicality of the reassignment.

“Some people believe I have an automatic advantage over other female MMA fighters. They think ‘she has to be stronger because she used to be a male.’ But if they look through the science of it and what the hormones do to the male body once taken over a period of time it dissipates.”
