Members of Pussy Riot were set upon by Russian Militia on the outskirts of Sochi when the band attempted to sing a protest song.  Video footage posted on YouTube shows the girls being moved in upon by members of the Cossack Militia and other security when they don ski masks and pull out a guitar.

The girls appear to be pepper sprayed and are seen being manhandled and whipped by security forces who rip off their masks and throw the band members to the ground.

According to AP no arrests were recorded.

Yesterday, members of Pussy Riot were also detained by police and held at a local police station where they complained of being mistreated by Russian officials.

According to the AP, the Sochi Police Department told the Itar-Tass news agency that the women were questioned about a theft at the hotel where they were staying.
