Watch: New webseries Brothers explores lives of trans men
A new web series by trans filmmaker Emmett Lundberg, follows the lives of a group of four trans friends.
Set in Brooklyn, the series explores the journey of each ‘brother’ and Lundberg describes the webisode as a dramedy. He hopes Brothers will give people an idea of the day-to-day life of a trans person.
The series features a cast of trans actors as Lundberg says he intentionally wanted to create a show that depicted the FTM trans experience.
“I’ve reached a place in my own transition where I’m starting to settle into who I am, and to who I will be, so I wanted to see that on screen,” he stateed in an interview on the series' website.
As well as writing and directing the series, Lundberg also features as Brothers’ leading man, Jack. The remainder of the cast is fleshed out with trans actors Jamie Casbon (Davyn), Hudson Krakowski (Aiden), and Will Krisanda (Max).
All three actors were excited to be participating in a series that reflected a trans man’s life.
“I have always been frustrated by the lack of trans-masculinity in the media and I thought it was so great that someone finally took it into their own hands to create a series about the trans male experience,” commented Krakowski.
Lundberg is currently seeking funds through Indiegogo to complete the series.
