MELBOURNE: The fight for marriage equality continues with Equal Love holding a rally on Saturday, May 17.

“Equal Love are holding a rally on International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia to highlight the continued discrimination by the Australian Government in maintaining the marriage ban - a ban that’s been in place 10 years this August” Equal Love convener Ali Hogg told MCV.

“We encourage all supporters of equality to come out on the streets and send a message to Abbott that we will keep up the fight until we are equal,” she said.

Transgender activist Sally Goldner and Australian Greens MP Adam Bandt have been confirmed to speak at the rally.

The march starts at 1pm outside the State Library on Swanston Street on Saturday, May 17.
