Grooms Benjamin Till and Nathan Taylor will see their nuptials broadcast on UK television on March 29, the day that same-sex marriage becomes legal in England and Wales.

The couple, a composer and actor, respectively, who both trained at the Guildford School of Acting, will be singing their vows. The ceremony will also feature readings from family performed in song and according to Channel 4, the ceremony will include “show stopping ensembles” that see the whole family, friends and special guests bursting out in song.

Channel 4 is billing the show as “Our Gay Wedding- the Musical' and it will be introduced by Stephen Fry and feature appearances from celebrity guests.

The happy couple have commented that as a composer and performer they have spent their lives expressing their emotions through song. “So getting married in a musical, particularly one we’re writing ourselves, felt like the most natural thing in the world,” they told The Stage News.

“We’ve been together for nearly 12 years, and never thought we’d get the chance to get married, for real,” Till said.
