The Outgames needs you: call for volunteers now on
The 2014 Asia Pacific Outgames will be held in Darwin next year and the call is on for 600 volunteers to assist in making the games a success.
Volunteers can now register their interest to take part in a variety of roles via the Outgames website.
“Volunteers are invaluable to the running of the Darwin Outgames.” says Darwin 2014 board member Olivia Birkett. “We are looking for people who can commit some time to the Outgames, show initiative and can have a bit of fun while they work hard”.
The Outgames co-ordinators are looking for volunteers across a wide range of areas, everything from umpiring matches to crowd support services. A voluntary team is also required to ensure the Human Rights Forum is run to meet international conference standards.
A full fact sheet about each role is available online.
“Whatever your skills and interests are, we will aim to find a role that suits you and supports the event. For a minimum of 10 hours voluntary assistance, you will be provided with a volunteer t-shirt, a participation pack, event accreditation and the perks of being involved with this exciting event in Darwin.” said Birkett.
The 3rd Asia Pacific Outgames will be hosted by Darwin May 10-16 2014. Previous events have been held in Melbourne 2008 and Wellington 2011. To register for the Darwin Outgames please go to www.darwinoutgames.com.au
