Susan Sarandon says marriage should be for everyone in new marriage equality video
Actor Susan Sarandon might not care for the institution herself, but she has voiced her support for marriage equality in an ‘Americans For Marriage Equality’ video.
Sarandon divorced from her husband in 1979 and later spent 21 years, unmarried, with former partner Tim Robbins, but in the video she says marriage should be a choice available to everyone.
“While marriage might not be my thing, if it’s your thing you damn well ought to be able to have it equally and unequivocally,” she says in the Human Rights Commission campaign video.
“The America I want to live in celebrates diversity and believes in equal rights for all families no matter what they look like.”
