Still hopes for Louise Pratt to secure senate seat

LAST UPDATED // Tuesday, 08 April 2014 12:04 Written by // Cec Busby

The fight for the sixth remaining WA senate seat continues, with LGBTI ally Louise Pratt battling Coalition candidate Linda Reynolds for the final spot.

Labor Senator elect  Joe Bullock – who made headlines during the election for disparaging comments about Pratt and her partner Aran Hosie, told Fairfax Media he was “cautiously hopeful” Pratt would retain her seat.

“I am optimistic that Louise is in with a real shot, but we have to wait until the count is complete. The Palmer vote will slowly come down, he got a surge in the final weeks,’’ he said.
