Sporties Annual Charity Bake-off is back for 2014

LAST UPDATED // Thursday, 31 July 2014 09:39 Written by // Andrew Shaw

The long-running Annual Charity Bake-off is on again this weekend at Brisbane's Sportsman Hotel.

Sporties has been hosting the Bake-off for the past 20 years and this Sunday, August 3, is your chance to show off your cooking skills under the watchful eye of host and head chef Wanda d’Parke.

This year will also see a special auction: a collage of historical LGBTI community photos that were part of the ‘Queer Queensland’ exhibition at the Powerhouse in November 2000.

Well over $123,000 has been raised for a variety of charities and community groups and this year the proceeds raised will be received by and help support PFLAG and ATSAQ (Australian Transgender Support Association Queensland).

Entries will be submitted for judging in a number of categories with prizes awarded, while raffles are also held throughout the day.

Doors open 10am, entries must be in by 2pm.
