Poodle Poupée, winner of Wet at Ellement Lounge’s So You Think You Can Drag? comp, has won herself a trip to Hamilton Island.

Poodle stunned judges Monica Fusions, Taylor Ette, Charne Louise and Magenta Bentley with her energy, her look and her live vocal rendition of ‘Mein Herr’ from Cabaret.

Wet manager Michael Breitkreutz  said he was “very pleased” with the turnout and “blown away” by the talent.

“The runner up was Brook-Lyn, and stand outs personally were Wilameana Bay Bay, Skye Blue, Brook-Lyn and Poodle Poupée,” Breitkreutz told QP.

“The judges did a great job with their comments and have been available to the finalists for improvement.”

Breitkreutz  said he plans to make So You Think You Can Drag? an annual event, adding that Poodle will be welcome as a guest performer at Wet.

Judge Monica Fusions said the competition proved Brisbane drag had a strong future.

“There were so many different performers and they were all putting their bodies on the line,” she told QP. “It looks like drag in Brisbane is not going to die any time soon.”
