Pick up a dream holiday at Honour Awards' silent auction
The annual Honour Awards are almost upon us and ACON would like to remind guests to pack their cheque books, as this year’s silent auction will be serving up over $100,000 of fantastic items.
Luxury holidays, designer jewellery and 5-star entertainment packages are amongst the goodies on offer, so bargain hunting community members should be able to grab a fantastic deal at the charity event.
Apart from honouring the achievements and contributions of NSW’s LGBTI community, the Honour Awards serve as the major fundraiser for leading LGBTI charities, Aurora and ACON.
ACON CEO Nicolas Parkhill says the occasion will be a glamorous night of celebration and commemoration.
“The Ivy’s stunning Sun Room will make a wonderful backdrop as guests are treated throughout the evening to quality wines and beers, delicious gourmet canapés and great music,” Parkhill said.
Lalie Ngozi from South African Tourism who is providing an incredible prize of an adventure holiday to South Africa worth $16,000 said South African Tourism is proud to be supporting the event. “South Africa Tourism is delighted to support the Honour Awards. We’re excited about showcasing South Africa to the lucky bidder and, in the process, help raise much-needed funds for ACON and Aurora. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of the LGBTI community at the event.”
Similarly, Ben Johnson, director of sales & marketing for BLUE Sydney, said Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces are delighted and proud to partner for the second year with the ACON Honour Awards. He's particularly excited about the auction item they will be offering.
“This year Taj is providing a 5-night luxury package of authentic living Palaces throughout India, and an urban accommodation package incorporating Manta Restaurant at BLUE Sydney, The Finger Wharf Woolloomooloo.”
Other auction items up for grabs include a dinner party in your home created by celebrity chef Ed Halmagyi, designer jewellery and watches and tickets to some of Sydney’s leading cultural events.
“And for those people who can’t make it to the event but would like to bid on the items, we’re offering an online bidding option that can be accessed remotely during the event,” said Parkhill.
The 2013 Honour Awards take place on September 19 at The Ivy. Tickets $85. More info www.honourawards.com.au
