Oh Lorde! Australian tour postponed
Pop superstar Lorde has postponed her Australian tour. Why? Why us, you might ask. Don't worry there's a legitimate excuse.
The Royals singer was due to arrive on our shores in just days, however the price of fame and extensive touring has taken its toll on the NZ-born singer who has been advised by doctors to return to her hometown of Auckland for rest and relaxation.
Tweeting that she had a "nasty chest infection" and has been going "non-stop since the Grammys in January," it's no surprise she has fallen ill.
According to a statement from Frontier Touring, the singer has said “"it breaks my heart to have to postpone the shows" and "I know I need to focus on getting better in order to perform at my best.”
Lorde has recently performed across South America, Central America, the desert of southern California and concert halls through the United States in recent weeks.
The singer has also been candid about the short timeframe in which she was thrust into the performance arena.
"I literally started performing music on the stage a year ago and I had no idea how to be a frontwoman, I had to learn pretty fast,” she told Fairfax Media.
It's most-likely the tour will resume in November, according to Lorde's Twitter page.
