Organisers of this year's ChillOut Festival have announced their headline DJs for this year’s iconic Dance Party.

The Dance Party which is a highlight of the annual four day festival will be headed up by "God of the Dance Floor" Pete McNamara (pictured left), as well as Melbourne's own Miss Eleni on the decks (right).

The theme of this year's Party is ‘Burlesque’ so organisers are urging people to "Corset up, break out the boas and dance until it hurts."

Another highlight of the festival - which takes places in the twin Victorian country towns of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs - is Cream, a musical institution which features some of Australia's most musically talented women.

This year will see the biggest line-up ever, including Freya Hanly, Sal Kimber, Monique Brumby band, The Electrique Birds, Rosie Burgess Trio and Nat Allison and Band, all rocking the much loved Old Hepburn Hotel.
The long weekend also covers every imaginable musical taste from country clogging to endorphin-lifting beats, jazz to indie folk, pop and gypsy.

ChillOut takes place over four days from Friday March 9 to Monday March 12 and features a host of events from the famous Bush Dance to the Twisted Rodeo, Lunch in the Park to a trip on the Daylesford Food and Wine Train.

Everything kicks off on Friday afternoon with The Slowest Lunch hosted by the iridescent Dolly Diamond.

Sporty types are also well catered for with a golf tournament, roller derby and even country horseracing.

And of course it would be a queer festival without a street parade and Carnival Day.

To top it off Chill Out also raises thousands each year for local charities and community services; this year the festival is supporting the Hepburn Shire State Emergency Services Unit to raise funds for vital new equipment.

The popularity of ChillOut has grown steadily since its inception in 1997 and it has grown to become the biggest regional queer pride event in Australia, its relaxed, down-to-earth character winning a special place in the hearts of LGBTIQ all over Australia.

That being the case, and some events having limited spaces, it’s best to get onto the website and check out the events calendar and book tickets early.

Tickets to all events are on sale now.

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for the great read! I'm looking forward to the festival, and hopefully I can still get accomodation - or it may be a few day trips for me.

I found info on the festival at http://chilloutfestival.com.au/
