Gay Day on Gold Coast this Saturday

Author // Anthony Smith Categories // News + Politics | Queensland

The Gold Coast Gay Day will return for another year of fun in the warm Queensland winter sun this weekend.

First held in 2007, the event returns to the Parklands Showgrounds in Southport this Saturday, May 12 with a big line up of talent, great community stands and a whole day of fun expected.

Headlining this year is the coast’s very own Zoe Badwi, well known for her hit 'Free Falling'. Also appearing is Emily Williams, along with host Trixie O Nassis and a slew of entertainers and DJ’s.

If the sun goes down and you’re still in the mood for a party, revellers will be able to dance until the wee hours of the morning at the official Gold Coast Gay Day After Party to be held at Surfers Paradise nightclub Escape.

With a special line up including Courtney Act, Karen Covergirl and Kitty Glitter among others, it promises to be a huge night of entertainment.

The day will raise funds for suicide prevention organisation Care for Life, and the Healthy Communities Fund, with both charities receiving a percentage from the door takings.
