Wong, Keneally to support Rainbow Labor events
Federal Finance Minister Penny Wong and former NSW Premier Kristina Keneally will be the guests of honour at two special Rainbow Labor events to be held in Sydney and Canberra in coming days, as party members gear up for the likely debate on marriage equality at the Labor National Conference next month.
With only a month to go before the conference in Sydney, Keneally (pictured) will be the special guest at this Friday’s ‘Stand Up For Marriage Equality’ fundraiser being held at the Haymarket offices of the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU).
The event will be hosted by broadcaster and media identity, Julie McCrossin.
In less than a fortnight, Wong also will be present for a Rainbow Labor fundraiser being organised by ACT Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Barr at Canberra’s National Film and Sound Archives.
Drinks and canapés will be provided at both upcoming events.
The Sydney event takes place on Friday, November 4 from 6pm-8pm at Level 7, CPSU offices, 5/191-199 Thomas St, Haymarket. Tickets cost $40, or $10 for concession, and are available at the door.
