Have your say on life in Marrickville

Marrickville Council is calling on local residents to have their say on GLBTIQ life in Marrickville to help their future planning.

The council in Sydney's South-West will use the feedback to plan an agenda and discussion points for a community forum coming up in May.

Representatives from a range of GLBTIQ and community groups including Positive Life NSW, Rainbow Babies Marrickville, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association, and Headspace will make contributions which will help Council develop local services and programs which are responsive to GLBTIQ needs.

Mayor of Marrickville, Councillor Victor Macri said the council welcomed the views of the GLBTIQ community.

“One of the greatest things about Marrickville is its diversity and we recognise the positive contribution of our local GLBTIQ community,” Macri said.

“We work hard to make sure everyone feels included and work with our community to plan appropriate programs and services to meet their diverse needs."

“I encourage residents to have their say on the issues affecting GLBTIQ residents and how they feel their life in Marrickville could be enriched,” he said.
