Miss Gay and Miss Transsexual Australia crowned

Gabriella Louise Mendoza and Sofiya Iya Cocaina Vergara were the winners from the 22 contestants in this year’s Miss Gay and Miss Transsexual Australia Pageant.

 

Mendoza was crowned Miss Gay while Vergara was crowned Miss Transsexual.
One of the highlights of the Midsumma Festival, the pageant was held in Yarraville and attended by the City Mayor of Maribyrnong Catherine Cummings, who presided over the award ceremony.
The pageant was one of the highlights of the Midsumma Festival and was started in 2009 to offer a well organised international competition and platform for cross-dressers, drag queens, transgender and transsexuals.

    Very disappointing objectifying trans bodies, creating a competition for sex reassigment surgery is like having a competition for for a cancer cure. Just sad.
