UK musical comedy duo Frisky and Mannish are set to headline annual GLBT fundraiser Fat Tuesday, along with a line-up of talented performers.

The fundraiser in its sixth year is run by GLBT charity organisation Aurora and provides an evening of food, wine and entertainment for a good cause.

“Having an international act of this calibre as part of the Fat Tuesday entertainment line-up is great news for Aurora, and our supporters,” event director Wayne Cox said.

Frisky and Mannish (pictured) are famous for parodying popular songs and have performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the New Zealand International Arts Festival.

“If you haven’t seen Frisky and Mannish before you are in for a real treat,” Cox said.

The cabaret act will be joined by entertainment commentator Andrew Mercado who will host the charity event.

Also performing are singers Monique Montez and Jacinta Gulisano, with more entertainment acts to be announced.

Fat Tuesday, held to mark the traditional date of Mardi Gras, is one of several events throughout the year that raise money for Aurora’s charitable grants program which provides funds for GLBT projects across New South Wales.

The 2012-2013 program saw close to $35,000 being distributed to organisations including the Cancer Council for peer support groups for same-sex attracted women with cancer, GBLT clients of Kings Cross community group the Wayside Chapel and Another Closet: The Cabaret – a theatre production by ACON and Maropa Productions that will address same-sex domestic violence.

Fat Tuesday is on 6.30pm, Tuesday, February 12 at Slide, 41 Oxford St, Darlinghurst. To book or more information, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or visit www.auroragroup.com.au
