ACON thanks volunteers for Red Ribbon Appeal success
Volunteers and others who helped ACON with last year’s Red Ribbon Appeal have been congratulated and thanked after raising approximately $90,000 across NSW during fundraising events for 2012 World AIDS Day.
The Red Ribbon Appeal acts as ACON’s biggest annual fundraiser, ACON CEO Nicolas Parkhill said, and as such the HIV and LGBT health organisation was reliant every year on the goodwill of staff, volunteers, clients and community members for it to be a success.
“On behalf of ACON and the Red Ribbon Team, I would like to sincerely thank all the people and organisations which contributed to this year’s Red Ribbon Appeal,” Parkhill said.
“The volunteers and team leaders who hit the streets on Friday 30 November and Saturday 1 December to sell the Red Ribbons did an amazing job.
“The volunteers, clients and staff who donated their time to make the thousands of Red Ribbons were a vital part of this year’s success.”
All funds raised will go directly into programs and services to support people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
