The 27th annual Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) Bake Off is set to take place at the Imperial Hotel  on August 3.

SX columnist and SBS2 present Patrick Abboud will host  alongside Aunty Mavis and Candy Box as Maitre D’. There will be fabulous cakes, of course, but also a slew of surprise shows from Dawn Service, Miss 3D, Campanosity and Cindy Pastel with more acts to be announced.

The theme for this year’s Bake Off is Once Upon A… Contestants and guests are expected to keep the fairytale theme in mind when vying for the top prizes.

This year BGF has assembled a star-studded judging panel. Head judge will be BGF Bake Off stalwart and DIVA Hall of Fame recipient, the lovely Claire de Lune. Joining Claire will be Chistina Batista who placed 5th on last year’s Masterchef and Marty Boetz from Cooks Co-Op on the Hawkesbury River and ex head chef of Longrain to select the best of the best from each of the seven categories.  There’ll also be a people’s choice award, best in show, best decorated and best fairy tale cake ….and of course the crowd favourite, the worst in show!

Macaron King, Adriano Zumbo will also be joining the team as a special guest judge.

After judging the winning cakes will be auctioned off to the highest lucky bidder.  All other entries will be available for purchase by silent auction.

David Riddell, CEO of Bobby Goldsmith Foundation said:  “This year we’re hoping to make the Bake Off an even greater fundraising success so we can continue to provide vital and diverse services to our growing client base.
