New day for Bingay

LAST UPDATED // Friday, 28 March 2014 17:27 Written by // Cec Busby

ACON’s popular fundraiser, Bingay, will say goodbye to its regular Tuesday night slot at the Midnight Shift. Bingay will now take place from 730pm on Thursday evenings.

The change of day is due to recent operational changes at the venue, which have seen the Midnight Shift move from a seven-day trading week to four days.

Drag queen extraordinaire Charisma Belle will continue to oversee all the madcap revelry and Bingay’s long time barrel babe Naomi Palmer will continue to spin the balls and sing up a storm.

If you’ve yet to attend Disco Bingay – we strongly advise you to get along for an evening of disco tunes, crazy questions, outrageous antics and lascivious bingo calls.

ACON Events Coordinator David Wilkins says the Bingay team is looking forward to their new late week slot.

“Thursday is a popular night for going out on Oxford St and we’re looking forward to providing LGBTI community members and their friends with a unique and hugely entertaining way to kick off their evening.”

“For those who have never been to Bingay, or haven’t been for a while, the night has never been better. The wonderfully funny hosts, the Shift’s production values and a fantastic volunteer team make for a fabulous night out…and all done and dusted by 10pm which leaves plenty of time for some extra fun.”

Disco Bingay: Every Thursday night, upstairs at The Midnight Shift Hotel, 85 Oxford St, Darlinghurst. 7pm for a 7:30pm start. $20 for all games. More info: www.acon.org.au/bingay
