Watch: Newtown high school students give Tony Abbott a serve on gay marriage and more

Last week a group of Year 9 students from Newtown High School of Performaing Arts took a field trip to Canberra. Whilst there, they encountered PM Tony Abbott and took part in an impromptu Q&A that put the PM through his paces on topics such as gay marriage and asylum seekers.

The students grilled Tony Abbott unmercifully asking why he is so against legalising gay marriage, why we are sending aslyum seekers back into international waters and why the Minister for Women is man...

    You guys at Newtown High are awesome!

    What great questions, and of course how telling that the person who doesn't necessarily believe that only 'same' are capable of making decisions on behalf of 'same', i.e. that the head of the department for women doesn't necessarily have to be a woman, begins a response by stating his belief that everyone is either male or female, thus eliminating many transsexual people, intersex, androgynous and gender fluid people.

    And kudos to you guys for pointing that out to this ignorant, backward, detestable human being.
