LAST UPDATED // Tuesday, 27 May 2014 09:16 Written by // Cec Busby

Slide Lounge will host a memorial for the late singer Daniel Scott who passed away earlier this month. The popular musical theatre performer who starred as Felicia in Priscilla the Musical will be remembered by friends and colleagues.

Scott was an accomplished entertainer who starred in numerous theatre productions, musicals, television shows and films. Amongst his many credits were Jersey Boys, Dusty, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, The Temperamentals, and Shout!

“Daniel is widely remembered as a force of nature, with tremendous talent, generosity of spirit, and a remarkable fearlessness”, says former Jersey Boys co-star Jeremy Brennan, “this memorial is an opportunity to celebrate him the way he would love, with lots of booze and song.”

The Daniel Scott Memorial will take place on Monday June 2, 7-10pm at Slide Lounge, 41 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.

I would like to publicly thank Jeremy for hosting Daniels Memorial on Monday. I would also like to thank those friends closest to Daniel (some of whom I had never met) for the strength, support and love that they gave, and continue to do so, at this unbearable time. I apologise to those who may wanted to attend his funeral, but it was very intimate and lovely. I believe a video of the service will be shown on Monday night so that you can feel as if you were there. Daniel was a beautiful child, talented from a very early age. His first performance was at a restaurant in Parramatta, where he asked if he could watch "the man play the piano". By the time I got back to my seat, he had microphone in hand, sing You Are My Sunshine. Always very cute and vivacious, he continued to reach his goals. But now he is gone. But he was and will always remain MY sunshine until the day I die. It should be a great night due to the unrelentless efforts of those who are organizing it and I hope you enjoy it...should be a great night. See you all there. Julie Scott (aka Mum) xx
