New appointments at Mardi Gras

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras have announced their latest appointments.

Siri Kommedahl joins Peter Urmson as co-chair of the organisation while Phil Kershaw remains as treasurer.

“Increasing the participation of women at all levels of the organisation is a key focus for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and Siri will lead our efforts in this important area,” a Mardi Gras spokesperson said in a statement.

Outgoing Festival Program Manager, Sam Sweedman, was congratulated for his passion and creativity with Mardi Gras saying a replacement would be announced in the near future.

"We also wish a fond farewell and best of luck to outgoing Festival Program Manager Sam Sweedman, whose talent and dedication have helped to put the Sydney Mardi Gras Festival on the map.”

2012 Volunteer of the Year Meg Ebelt has been appointed to the role of Production Coordinator, working under event producer Brad Wright to deliver the Parade and other events in 2013.
