Sydney transwoman’s transition seen by millions
A time-lapse video documenting the three-year transition of an Australian transwoman has been viewed over three million times since being posted on YouTube three months ago.
Sydney graphic designer Ashley Caccamo, who goes by the YouTube username iiGethi, posted the video on October 22, 2012.
In a post below the video, Caccamo, 24, said she had taken about 1,000 images in total to create the video and had undergone Facial Feminisation Surgery (FFS) during its making.
“This video is of me going through a 3 year transition (Roughly one thousand pictures). I have had FFS during the process,” she says.
“I started roughly around when I was 20 - 21 years of age. I use to have my own channel a while ago where I'd post videos, but removed it. Here I am again making a return.”
The video montage, which plays over the Beatles song 'Girl', ends with a shot of a smiling Caccamo in late 2012.
