Major publishing deal for US gay male romance writer
Self-publishing author S. U. Pacat has accepted a major publishing deal from Penguin Berkley for her gay male romance, or mm romance, trilogy, Captive Prince.
In May, Pacat announced that an agent from New York showed interest in selling the trilogy to a major publishing house.
Previously, the popular fiction had been released chapter by chapter through Pacat’s Livejournal page, but will soon become a published paperback.
“The response from publishers was unbelievably positive, with Penguin Berkley making the most robust offer,” Pacat said on Livejournal.
Most significantly, this will be the first mm romance trilogy published on a major scale. Up until this point, the genre has only seen limited distribution through online self-publishing or by smaller niche publishing circuits.
“This will be Berkley’s first mm romance paperback release, and I am so excited to be a part of their first wave of mm,” Pacat added.
The release dates are yet to be announced.
