NZ pop singer Lorde's Kansas concert is set to be picketed by the Westboro Baptist Church, with the singer urging fans to show LGBT solidarity.

The extremist group, known for their catchphrase 'God hates fags' has taken a disliking to the singer with a quote on their website saying:

"New Zealand came forth with a young lassie that doesn't have enough sense to put in a thimble. Now the world has elevated her to the status of idol."

But Lorde, known for her acid tongue and sharp wit is simply amused by the forthcoming picket, urging fans to fly the gay flag via her Twitter feed.

"Hahaha OMG just found out Westboro Baptist Church are going to picket my show in Kansas City. Everyone wear rainbow clothing to that show."

She then went one step further, enouraging fans, "everyone try to kiss church members who are same sex as you, they will so love it. Christmas coming early in Kansas City."
