Laugh for Life at No Laughing Matter
The annual No Laughing Matter (NLM) Comedy Gala will take over the Enmore Theatre again this October to raise much-needed funds for suicide prevention initiatives in Australia.
Suicide Prevention Australia is hoping for a sold out event to raise money and awareness for the cause.
“No Laughing Matter is becoming one of the biggest comedy events of the year. What better way to raise money and suicide prevention awareness than through the gift of laughter. I love this charity and I love this event,” says Suicide Prevention Australia Ambassador and 2012 NLM em-cee Tommy Little.
This year’s event has drawn a stellar line up of some of the comedy scene’s best loved acts including Fiona O’Loughlin, Peter Berner, Ciel and Mikey Robbins.
NLM also encourages people to “laugh for life” and build camaraderie through comedy. According to the event’s organisers, NLM provides a means to “start the conversation” and “get people talking about and understanding suicide and suicide prevention in Australia”.
All the comedians performing at the event have donated their time, energy and material to NLM.
