James Franco to play ex-gay activist in Gus Van Sant film
Gus Van Sant's as-yet-untitled film may get the James Franco treatment, with rumours the Hollywood writer/actor will portray yet another gay character.
Franco has an affinity for playing queers, with previous roles in Milk and Howl, and has also directed Interior Leather Bar, an exploration of queer sex and BDSM culture so, really, this new character shouldn't come as much of a surprise.
Well, technically it's only half a gay character, as the film's focus is on ex-gay activist Michael Glatze, who later renounced his sexual orientation and became heavily religious. As you do.
The film is slated to shoot this summer.
