A new Australian web series which focuses on the lives of some super chic Sydney lesbians and aims to fill the gap left by mainstream TV has been slated for a second series.

If you think Australia is long overdue for some quality lesbian drama than rest assured because Starting From...Now! has arrived.

The web series follows the increasingly tangled lives of four lesbian women based in Sydney, with the first season having debued in March of this year.

The plot follows the naive and awkward, Steph Fraser (Sarah de Possese) who moves to Sydney to pursue her dream job. Her life, however, takes a complicated turn when she falls for her childhood friend, Kristen’s (Lauren Orrell), long term girlfriend, Darcy (Rosie Lourde) as she shares their small inner-west home.

With over 150,000 views in a short time and gaining momentum from U.S. LGBTI networks including One More Lesbian, the series has been given the green light for a second season which will air online on 3 June.

The series is the brainchild of writer/director/producer Julie Kalceff whose lesbian short films have screened at numerous festivals and whose 2011 lesbian web series, The Newtown Girls has already been viewed in over 190 countries.

Starting From...Now! web series Season Two begins on 3 June. For the first season and more information visit: www.startingfromnowtv.com/
