'Historic day' for the U.K. as gay marriage becomes legal
Same sex couples have rushed to the alter, after gay marriage became legal in the U.K. and Wales shortly after midnight on Friday.
The first weddings took place early Saturday morning with Prime Minister David Cameron tweeting , "congratulations to the gay couples who have already been married - and my best wishes to those about to be on this historic day."

Rainbow flags were flown over government buildings on Saturday to mark the milestone for civil rights.
