Sydney MP Alex Greenwich and David Shoebridge MLC, are hosting a charity breakfast at Parliament House on June 18 to raise funds for the HIV/AIDS Legal Centre (HALC).

Due to recent funding cuts by the Federal government (the Coalition has refused to honour Labor's commitment to provide an additional $20,000 per year for four years), HALC has been forced for the first time in five years to shutdown interstate services.

To try to meet the shortfall in funding and get these vital services open once more, HALC is running a crowd funding campaign for the month of June with an aim to raise $50,000.

The Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG is a supporter of the campaign.

Kirby says

"One of the least appreciated downsides of HIV/AIDS is that it can cause serious legal problems for the people involved. This is why, from the start, I have supported HALC. I still do. It helps some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

To make a donation visit : http://www.chuffed.org/project/1424/ or go to HALC  to find out more information abou the fundraising breakfast.
