GQ Germany launches Gentleman Against Homophobia campaign
GQ magazine in Germany has enlisted the help of a group of straight male celebrities to launch their Mundpropaganda campaign. The campaign hopes to breed tolerance and fight homophobia in Germany and around the world by getting local celebs to pucker up against hate.
The Gentleman Against Homophobia campaign, which takes its 'Mundpropagander' moniker from a pun on 'word of mouth' features 13 celebrities engaging in lip-locks with members of the same sex. Celebs include actors, sportsmen and singers.
The photos will feature on billboard campaigns all over Germany as well as on the sides of buses.
GQ Editor-in-Chief, José Redondo-Vega, said “The intolerance that homosexuals are still fighting against is shocking. With #Mundpropaganda we wanted to give a clear sign in favour of a free society.”
Not all the celebs approached agreed to participate in the campaign and Redondo-Vega says those who did participate showed great courage.
The German edition of GQ is out today.
