Eastender actor stands up to Twitter trolls following gay storyline
Actor Danny Dyer, who became a household name after starring in UK series The Football Factory, recently joined the cast of Eastenders. The actor has found himself embroiled in Twitter war after defending a recent storyline he was involved in on the popular soapie.
This week Eastenders premiered an episode in the UK where Dyer’s character, Mick, discovers his son, Johnny, is gay.
The episode has been praised by LGBTi davoccy groups for its handling of the teens coming out – but Dyer has found himself at the wrong end of a barrage of Twitter abuse.
The homophobic messages included:
'Asif Danny Dyer would have a gay son though, he would have had him put down at birth!'
