Courtney Act confirmed for RuPaul’s Drag Race

LAST UPDATED // Tuesday, 10 December 2013 14:06 Written by // Cec Busby

Aussie drag legend Courtney Act loves firsts... Last month she announced plans to enter the 2014 Miss Universe contest and now it’s been announced Act will be the first Australian to appear in cable success story RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Act will compete against 13 other performers and no doubt has her eye on the crown, with previous winners including Sharon Needles and Chad Michaels.

Act first came to fame in 2003 as a finalist in Australian Idol. Initially entering the competition as Shane Jenek, Jenek failed to make it through the first round and returned to audition as his alter-ego Courtney who became a finalist in the competition.

Act, who is now based in LA, will return to Sydney next year for a special one-off cabaret show at Slide as part of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
