Kylie to join cast of The Voice UK
It seems another Minogue is to join the ranks of reality TV competitions, with Kylie Minogue announced to join the cast of The Voice UK.
Minogue will replace UK singer Jessie J on the popular BBC program.
The Aussie songbird will join will.I.am and Tom Jones as a coach for the show’s third season.
Minogue has commented she loves the show and can’t wait to join the cast.
“I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series,” she said.
So was Minogue inspired to take on the coaching role by her sister Danni’s success on X Factor? Perhaps, or perhaps it was simply the appeal of The Voice's format. In an interview on Pop Justice last year, Minogue confessed to being enamoured of the show:
“I’m often on the couch shouting out what I want the judges to be saying. But it’s very easy to be a couch participant. When you’re in the moment and when you’re actually on live TV, it’s a lot harder to be in that seat. Whether it spins or doesn’t spin.”
Meanwhile viewers will have to wait to see who will make Minogue’s chair spin when The Voice UK comes back on air.
