Cate McGregor joins Women Say Something line-up

Trailblazing transgender woman, Lieutenant Colonel Cate McGregor will become the first transgender women to be invited to appear on the panel of Women Say Something on February 28. 

McGregor is the most senior transgender woman within the Australian Defence Forces, and a is speechwriter to Chief of Army. She made headlines around the nation when she chose to transition publicly, becoming an advocate and role model for transgender people in the process.

Carmen Rupe Memorial Trust spokesperson Caitiff Hall commented: “Cate Gregors' inclusion in Women Say Something reflects the shifting attitudes within the feminist community in recognising the legitimate contribution transgender women can make to the feminist cause."

Hall describes McGregor as inspriational. "Cate's inclusion will be inspirational for many transgender people who sadly, still remain highly marginalised and socially isolated within much of broader society."

Speakers at Women Say Something include: Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, Australian country music singer, Beccy Cole, Aria award winner Sally Whitwell, Wine maker Lisa McGuigan, and editor-in-chief of Curve Magazine Merryn Johns.
