Big Gay Day goes off at The Wickham

LAST UPDATED // Monday, 16 March 2015 13:44 Written by // Andrew Shaw

Big Gay Day went off at The Wickham Hotel yesterday, with a different layout from previous years.

The VIP room upstairs gave guests a panoramic view of the crowd and the stage below, where headliners Sneaky Sound System and a host of other acts including Lee Dagger and Sarah McLeod had the crowd jumping.

The stage flipped around to the other side, giving more room for punters.

A highlight of the day was Pam Ann with her energetic and at times outrageous onstage antics, along with her dancing ‘Bull Man’.

Wickham manager Nick Braban said the day ran smoothly, and everyone behaved themselves.

“Our thanks to the community,” Braban said, adding that details such as attendance figures were still being finalised.

The Queensland AIDS Council, PFLAG the Australian Transgender Support Association Qld (ATSAQ) and Open Doors will receive 25 per cent of the profits made on the day.
