Aussie athlete crashes Kylie's Commonwealth Games performance
Kylie Minogue delivered a super set at last night's Commonwealth Games closing ceremony but her performance was overshadowed by an Australian athlete looking for a few minutes of fame.
Steeplechase runner and ovezealous Kylie fan Genevieve LaCaze generated quite a stir on social media last night after she jumped on the stage, during Kylie's costume change, joining backing dancers for a minute or so before being removed by security.
Celebrating her 25th birthday, the steeplechase runner who placed fifth in her first Commonwealth Games appearance, deemed Minogue's performance the perfect opportunity to let loose and bust some moves.
The opportunty to dance with Kylie Minogue doesn’t come around every lifetime, so I took it,” LaCaze said.

Had she not been removed from the stage LaCaze may have offered up some other talents.
“I could have grabbed the microphone and shown a little bit of vocals but I don’t know how talented I am in that area," she said.
But back to the main performance.
Viewers and Games attendees were treated to a Kylie 'best of' with the singer performing Into the Blue, Love at First Sight, All the Lovers and Loco-Motion. She paused for a brief costume change, ending the ceremony with Beautiful and Can't Get you Out of my head.
Twitter users heavily criticised the length of speeches during the ceremony deeming it a bit of a snore fest with Aussie Jess Mauboy and surfer Mick Fanning coming under fire for their wordiness.
