Queen will be joined by Ex American Idol contestant and singer Adam Lambert when he joins them as a guest vocalist for their Australian tour this August.

The rockers, who haven't played in Australia since 1985, have toured with Lambert for the last three years, first playing with the musician while he was a contestant on American Idol in 2009.

The group, whose only original members  are guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor (vocalist Freddie Mercury died in 1991), have hinted this could be their last tour with promoter Paul Dainty remarking “this may be the last chance Australian fans have to see one of the greatest rock bands in history.”

Lambert said of the upcoming tour:

“I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon.

“The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in Australia is so beautifully surreal. I’m honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band."

Queen will begin their Australian tour in August with tickets going on sale May 28.
