2018 Gay Games to be hosted by Paris
UK capital. London. and the Irish city of Limerick lost out against their Gallic rival, Paris, in the bid to host the 2018 Gay Games.
Organisers from the three cities flew to Cleveland to deliver final presentations before the announcement, which was made via live streaming video on October 7 by the Federation of Gay Games.
The committee organising the UK bid said: “Naturally we are disappointed, but it has been an honour to be part of this experience and we are overwhelmed by the support of you all!”
French Sports Minister Valérie Fourneyron and double Olympic gold medal winning fencer Laura Flessel joined the Parisian delegation which travelled to Cleveland for the final presentations.
Paris previously bid to host the Gay Games in 2010 but lost to Cologne.
