Search is on for Sydney’s newest drag cast in ‘Cash 4 Queens: The Casting Couch Edition 2’
A fresh crop of performers are vying to become Sydney’s newest drag stars in the new season of Cash 4 Queens: The Casting Couch Edition.
Now in its second outing, the drag contest at Midnight Shift every Wednesday – which launched last Wednesday – will see 14 drag queens compete over 12 weeks for a place in the top three spots and share in a prize pool of $5000 cash. The winning trio will also score a paid gig for eight weeks in a new Saturday night production at the Midnight Shift.
The weekly comp is hosted by Charisma Belle with Carmen Geddit serving as head judge.
“I’m so excited about this new bunch,” Charisma said.
“We have a fabulous mix of familiar faces and new baby drags and even some real girls doing drag. It’s such an unusual mix and I can’t wait to see how it all works together.”
Many of Sydney’s top drag queens started out in talent competition just like Cash 4 Queens, including Charisma herself.
“The best way to learn the craft is to throw yourself into a comp. It’s the closest thing to being a full time queen. It’s a crash course in what drag is really like and if you can handle this then you’re half way to winning your first DIVA award.”
Charisma said punters and revellers are in for a weekly treat.
“Come and support the girls and watch their journey. Each challenge teachers a particular skill required to be a fabulous working queen. From photoshoots to team work exercises and even physical challenges – all live, always exciting. Don't miss out.”
