Starting in 2009 the team of lads set out to challenge homophobia and put their weight behind gender equality.
This year’s calendar saw the team travel to Spain and New York to get the best shots possible.
The Warwick Rowers calendar project has long been one of the world’s most eye-catching straight ally projects, with its serious influence continuing to grow.
Sport Allies, the charity they set up and continue to fund, has now become a registered charity. It has also caught the attention of top UK politicians and is about to launch an in depth academic report on homophobia and gender inequality.
It is an extraordinary story of ground level activism that has captured the imagination and support of millions around the world.
Calendar producer Angus Malcolm said it’s been very exciting to continue putting it together.
“For the last seven years, it has been my privilege to work with the rowers to raise funds for their sport and to challenge homophobia in sport,” he said.
“I have seen the passion, dedication and commitment that they bring to both aspects of the project so it was a pleasure to be able to share with other young people from all over the world the idea that you can create a viable enterprise while also campaigning for social change.”
