Hot Trans model features on Men’s Health cover
Trans model Ben Melzer will grace the cover of Germany’s next edition of Men’s Health.
Melzer will become the first trans person to feature on the cover of a men’s magazine in Europe. The Trans fitness fanatic and model earned the right by beating out all other contenders in a competition to feature as the cover model of magazine’s April issue.
Melzer told Towleroad he began his transition process at the age of 23 and said he is very happy with the person he has become.
“My inside and my outside finally fit and that’s why I’m not at all ashamed to talk about it,” he said.
The model said he had always had a passion for fitness but his many surgeries during his transition process had initially made it hard to achieve his fitness goals.
“After about 3 years everything was finally done and I started to concentrate on my training and diet.”
Melzer told Bild.de he hopes he can use the publicity he’s receiving to give other trans people hope.
“Many ask me: Why do you do this, why did you public and tell your story? But that’s easy to answer. When I was in that situation, I had nobody to talk to, nobody to ask all [these] questions. That’s what I want to do. I want to give the community a face, stand up and answer those questions for people. If there is one person out there I can help, I will succeed.”
Last year, trans bodybuilder Aydian Dowling became the first trans model to feature on the US version of Men’s Health after catching the publishers eye whilst competing in the magazine’s ‘Ultimate Guy’ competition.
