WATCH: Real life stories about living with HIV that will move you
HIV Foundation Queensland has launched a series of poignant and stunningly crafted videos addressing stigma surrounding HIV.
The videos, launched this week, are made in collaboration with MediaCom, and are part of the second phase of the E.N.D. H.I.V. campaign in the state.
The beautifully made shorts by filmmaker Mikey Trotter feature non-actors telling personal stories about their experience of HIV.
“These are real stories - no actors - just real people in their own words. The foundation felt this was essential to provide a fresh and honest look at HIV today,” said HIV Foundation CEO Tony Majer.
“People living with HIV can have an important role to play in the fight to end HIV and the foundation is proud to be able to assist by shining some light on these powerful stories.”
Nicole Boyd, managing director of MediaCom Brisbane said the organisation was proud to be part of the project.
“Over the past few months we have spoken to some amazing and inspiring people who have shared their stories of living with HIV. These are powerful stories that can make a real difference to changing attitudes towards HIV.”
